Online Craft Course - Have You the Time?

The online craft course is a great idea. Access the best type of course, teacher or subject and watch, listen and play as and when you want. On the face of it this flexibility is ideal, but it does need some commitment to make the most of your package.
There are a number of things to think about when deciding on the kind of course that best suits you.
- Choose the right level of craft project- A project that is presented well - Go for a style that you like- Understand how your course will be delivered- What are the payment terms?- How long does it last?- How and when do you get your course information?
It is this last one that is very important - how your projects or course comes to you.
Many courses are delivered by Webinars at set times. Though time constraints mean these are accessible to everyone at the same time, they are usually archived, which means you can watch tm later. The flexibility of Webinars and downloadable craft videos gives you 24-hour access. So you can re-run parts of projects as often as you like until you get it. Best of all, you can watch the how to part whilst reading how at the same time for maximum benefit.
These main approaches work for every learner - whether you prefer to watch and do or read and do. Most of us are a mix of the two.
If you are someone you likes the whole picture then you will probably jump into all the reading material and the video stuff too. Others may just dive into doing without knowing exactly how, figuring that they can always refer back to 'how' later. Actions suits these type of learners best and they are not too bothered about knowing it all beforehand.
If you like to weigh up the options, matching one idea with another then you will be following both side-buy-side. A bit of reading plus play and pause will be your best route to fast learning.
How often the course is delivered is crucial. If the course is delivered weekly you will still be able to go to a link to get your course materials. Downloads are preferable so that you can store them safely on your hard drive, just in case access issues change at a later date.
If you are signed up for a weekly program you may need to make sure that you can fit in time watch and do your weekly project. Be generous on yourself and give yourself the time it will take to complete the weekly 'homework. Will it matter if you fall behind, or will you really have to block out the time it needs? You will not want to feel overwhelmed with too much information.
Make sure that you understand both their - and your commitment. You have invested money, so invest in the time too to make the most of your purchase. If not you may be disappointed with your course purchase. That does not do either of you any favors.
So choose your online craft course carefully and get those fingers busy.
