What Are the Best Nintendo DS Games?

The Nintendo DS was the first handheld game to offer two screens. With this new innovation came a lot of possibilities for how users interact with the games. By having the second screen developers could either use that space for gaming information such as maps and level progress, or include it as part of the game play and make players look from one screen to the other in order to complete the level. Here are the best games to play on the Nintendo DS. They are chosen for how fun they are, how much re-play potential they have, and their multi-player abilities.
Mario Kart DS - If you are a fan of the Mario Kart series you'll love playing Mario Kart on the DS. The graphics and essential play are the same as you'd expect in this series, but it's the ability to link up with friends and play a multi-player game that makes this one tops. Hook up to a WiFi hot spot and you could be contending against players from all over the world. If you think you are a Mario Kart pro, wait until you get beat out by a player from Japan. They don't mess around when it comes to racing!
Mario Party DS - If you are a big fan of the Mario Party line of games you'll enjoy playing it on the DS. You'll want to make sure you have some friend's that have DSs because it's just not as fun playing solo. The best way to play is with everyone in the same room so that you can see them frantically try to complete the tasks of the mini games to win the coins. The great part is you don't need to buy a game cartridge for each player. You only need one game pack to play with up to four players, and the rest can just download the game and be ready to play.
Super Mario 64 DS - If you loved playing Super Mario 64 on the N64 you'll enjoy playing it on the DS. It utilizes the second screen of the DS and also the touch effects to create a game that is just as enjoyable as playing the classic was. In this game you can switch Mario to Yoshi, Wario, or Luigi and play as those characters for the entire game. It adds a whole new level of play as each character makes the game feel a little different.
New Super Mario Bros. - Smash through levels as a giant Mario! You'll recognize a lot of similarities from the classic Super Mario Bros. game you played as a kid, plus you can introduce your own kids to the fun! There are loads of surprises and new abilities and power-ups that this game really takes it to a whole new level.
